Project description

A developing forum for sustainable management of the marine and coastal environment.

The Sussex Marine and Coastal Forum (SMaCF) is a collection of partners who share an interest in our Sussex coastline and associated estuaries of the rivers Cuckmere, Ouse, Arun and Adur, and Chichester Harbour. The aim of the forum is to promote a sustainable approach to the management, use and development of the Sussex coast and estuaries, to ensure that its inherent natural and cultural qualities are maintained and enhanced for the benefot of future generations.

Current topics of interest include the designation and development of management actions for Marine Conservation Zones, gathering of evidence to beter understand how to manage these waters, and raising awareness of the biodoversity and habitats that our coastline supports.
