The Environment Agency has published a summary document of public responses to the Challenges and Choices consultation which asked for views on the challenges waters face and the choices we all need to make to improve and protect this precious resource. The consultation responses will be used to inform and update the existing river basin management plans which set out how water needs to be managed and are one of the key ways to meet the ambitions of the government’s 25 Year Environment Plan. They are published by the Environment Agency but everyone has a role in delivering them.
Stakeholders will be able to comment on the updated plans during the draft river basin management plan consultation. After this the plans will be finalised and submitted to the Secretary of State for approval.
