Sutton Hall (MORPH)
Sutton Hall Weir is an inoperable stepped weir, with a fish ladder that does not work effectively for all fish species. The former course of the river can be seen as a cut off meander to the east of the weir, which is fed from a small drain and contains some ponded and some flowing water.
At this site we would like to reconnect the meanders on the right hand bank to bypass Sutton Hall Weir, and ope up the stretch for fish migration. Ouline designs have been drawn up for this work, but it has yet to be costed and a funding stream sourced.
